FIGEATER’S MONEY BAG
Once, a young fellow loved to eat figs. Nobody knew where he had come from, so he was called Figeater. Figeater discovered an old money bag one day, on which a phrase had been embroidered: ‘Ask and you shall receive.’ It granted each wish he made! At first, he wished for a small sum of money, and then, for gold coins. Having few needs, he gave away everything to the villagers. But, the villagers suspected him of being a thief, and chased him away. Roaming about, Figeater met an old beggar, who seemed familiar. On speaking to each other, they realised they were looking for each other! The old beggar was the king in disguise, looking for his son who had been kidnapped by robbers in his childhood, and then abandoned. And, that child was none other than the Figeater! The king happily returned to his kingdom with his son.
